Comments: Was a Flight Platoon Sergeant with 11 Chinooks that still carried the 147th "Hill Climbers" call sign and patch. We were assigned to the 18th Corps Aviation Company from 1972-1973, Can Tho Army airfield when I help send the 147th back to Hawaii. I would like to say at this point, the officers and men of the 147th Flight Platoon continued to carry the unit's honor and lineage up to the cease fire, 1973 and after. I lost a lot of good pilots and enlisted crewmembers after the cease -fire.

Well done to an honored unit; and I was glad to be part of them, even though I was a CH54 flight platoon sergeant on two previous tours to RVN.

Respectfully

SGM (ret) Nick Smythe

147th 1972-1973

"Hill Climber" Flight Platoon Sergeant.
