Comments: Hillclimber Aug 67-Aug 68. Great unit, and a great group of true professionals! Thanks to the maintenance guys, the crew, door gunners, ops, pathfinders, and fellow aviators who made the 147th a unit of which one could be proud. Thanks to Rodney for his tireless efforts at bringing this organization into being, and to Frank White lending his web expertise and artistic talents to the Hillclimber cause. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Savannah.

Comments: One more note..............

Just returned from Viet Nam... went to Vung Tau .................... home of the hillclimbers 1965- 1970

WOW ....there is a total nuthin' at the airport .

It is just a huge empty space, and only flight 's by Rusisan helicopters to the oil platforms off shore 80 miles.

Back beach has a 6 lane road and high rise hotels on it ..... frount beach has all been devoloped into a broad plaza type affair......

and on top of little Mt. there is a 30 meter high" Rio" style Jesus statue......

I have pics.

Will you post a roster of all the service members that served in the 147th and support units and dates they served ??

Comments: Great stuff, just what I needed to re-call some of the things that looked like blank pages.I was with the HILLCLIMBERS in 1966 then transfered to the PACHYDERMS in the early part of 67. Started with running the POL then finally into maintenance. I still have pictures of our Back Beach BBQ but a lot has escaped me.Thanks for the look into the past and good luck with the Association.Count on me to keep browsing....from Hawaii, ED

Comments: I was with the 164th CAG Liaison Team, but flew regularly with the Hillclimbers during my 17 months in RVN from March '70 to Sept. '71. First "crashed" with a Hillclimber April 1, '70 at Soc Trang when we hit the windsock while turning onto the active. Last "crashed" with a Hillclimber Sept. 7, '71 at Can Tho in the revetment when out-of-sync blades struck the top of the revetment. Much excitement in between. Best wishes to all Hillclimbers.
